Our weekly nature meetups are on Thursdays from 10:30-2:30 and will be held anywhere within an hours drive of Hemet and on occasion further. Are you available during this time frame and willing to travel? (Please do not join our group if you have other commitments during this time such as other co-ops, homeschool groups, classes, sports, church groups etc.)

How long have you been homeschooling?
Why have you decided to homeschool?
This beautiful homeschool community is meant to be a welcoming place for all. No curriculum, race, philosophy, or religious affiliation should get in the way because we have so much to learn from each other. What is your homeschool style?
Do you know any moms in our group? If so, who?
Are you familiar with the Wild + Free movement? What does Wild + Free mean to you?
Have you read the book, "The Call of the Wild and Free" by Ainsley Arment?

If not, I agree to read it as soon as I can.
We do not have an attendance requirement but we ask that you seriously consider whether you will be able to commit to our group regularly. We value the group and the relationships formed are only possible when attending consistently and with priority. We ask that you put in as much effort to come as possible so that we can build this beautiful community together!

We believe fathers are vital to homeschooling but as a whole, Wild + Free was created to support homeschooling mamas. Wild + Free groups are considered to be for women and children only but we will be planning family events where Fathers are welcome to join!
No screens allowed with the exception of moms taking photos, using identification apps or communicating with spouses. I understand that I will not allow my child to use devices (digital cameras are ok) while at our meet ups.
I believe everyone was created for a purpose and with unique gifts! My vision for the group is that we all work together to build a rich and valuable experience for not only the children, but us moms as well! Whether you're a master organizer and are able to help plan field trips or celebrations, know how to churn butter or make kombucha and want to teach us, are passionate about music and can lead a music circle in the woods or can share your knowledge of herbalism or holistic medicine with the moms so we can better take care of our families, you are welcome and urged to contribute! Please let us know how you would like to share your gifts with us!

I post photos of our group outings on our Instagram page (@wildandfree.dv). Can I get your permission to post photos of your children? If you opt out, I will only post photos of them from the back and it'll be your responsibility to ensure they aren't in any "instagram" group photos.
Yes, you may post photos of my child/children
No, please only use photos from behind
We strive to strike a balance between being engaged and present parents while also encouraging independence and growth in our kids. It’s okay for them to struggle. It’s okay for them to approach a task in their own way. It’s okay for their questions to be left to linger and come back around in their own time. It’s okay for them to jump in a puddle, to climb a tree, to pick up insects, to dig in the dirt, to turn what could be a quick walk to the end of the trail into a 3 hour amble. Or to choose to do none of those things. In general, we try to say less. To intervene less. To direct less.
I commit to downloading the BAND app to my phone and checking it regularly for updates. I will RSVP "JOIN" or "DECLINE" to every event and participate in the discussions as necessary!
