Whether you realize it or not, if you like my style, you are drawn to the look of film photography. In a digital age, it is hard to believe that a handful of photographers still shoot old school film; however, I have realized that it is very difficult to achieve the look I love in my work, without shooting with film! Digital cameras just can't replicate it quite the same way. Film does have it's limitations and doesn't perform as well in low light. That is where digital cameras can step in and shine! So that is why I choose to shoot with both film and digital cameras on a wedding day. This is also what makes me unique in the wedding photography industry!

Growing up, I never appreciated my name because it was so different and was often mispronounced. I was the only "Malia" I knew. But now, I revel in the fact that my name is rare. "Malia" is a Hawaiian word that means "calm waters". My clients have described me as such too. Being recently married, I understand how stressful the wedding day and the days leading up to it are. Not only that, but not only being in front of a large group of people and my camera can be intimidating! It is my hope that my relaxed and adaptable personality will take away some of the chaos of the day. I strive to have fun, be creative, capture unforgettable moments and share your day with you as if you were my family. I love what I do and I'm honored to live my passion of photography with you!

ONLINE HOSTING
Every wedding collection includes an online gallery with all of your high resolution images. These will be safely archived for 10 whole years! The gallery comes with a smartphone app that can be carried around to share images with friends and family. It also has easy to use functions to share images on social media. If you would like professional quality prints, you are able to order them in the gallery; however, you are not required to! You can download your entire gallery to your computer or flash drive and take them to the lab of your choice!

I take a lot of pride in my work because I consider it my art. I can't draw, paint or sculpt, but I know how to capture memories. But it doesn't stop on the wedding day, I spend hours after your wedding creating your moments into pieces of art you can hang on your walls and place in heirloom albums. I hold myself to high standards and I can't deliver images to you until they meet my personal aesthetics. I edit every single image that I deliver and I deliver an average of 75 images per hour of coverage.
